1. Who We Are
Albatrace (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a web-based application for golf shot analysis and ball flight tracing. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use albatrace.app.
2. What We Collect
We may collect the following types of data:
- Account information, your email address and basic profile details, if you create an account.
- Video files, uploaded and processed temporarily. Once you have your traced video we delete the footage, usually within about 30 minutes. We do not keep your video content.
- Trace metadata, which is detection statistics, trajectory data, seed coordinates (pixel space), processing times, and confidence scores. It is anonymised and there is nothing in it that identifies you.
- Usage data, meaning pages visited, features used, referrer information, and web performance metrics. Vercel Analytics collects this. It works without cookies and does not track individual users.
- Device and technical data, such as browser type, operating system, and IP address. We use it for security, error monitoring, and diagnostics.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide the Service and deliver your traced results.
- Improve the product based on anonymized usage analytics.
- Send account-related communications.
- Diagnose technical issues and maintain service reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
We may share data only with:
- Service providers who support the operation of Albatrace (listed below), under strict data processing agreements.
- Legal authorities, if required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party service providers for hosting, analytics, error monitoring, email delivery, and payment processing. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies. We do not share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Payment processing is handled by a PCI-compliant provider. We never see, store, or have access to your card details.
6. Cookies
Albatrace uses only essential cookies for session management. We do not use advertising, marketing, or third-party tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics operates without cookies and does not track individual users across sites.
7. Data Retention
- Video files: we delete your uploaded video, the traced version, and the still frames we pull out of it while you pick the impact and landing points. That happens about 30 minutes after you get your traced video. Our storage also expires anything left behind after a day, so nothing sticks around if a deletion has to retry. We do not keep your video content.
- What stays behind: the numbers, not the footage. Where the ball was in each frame, the shape of the flight, how confident the trace was, and how long it took. None of that is video and none of it shows you or anyone else.
- Trace metadata: retained indefinitely in anonymized form for product improvement.
- Account data: retained while your account is active. Deleted upon request.
8. Children's Privacy
Albatrace is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or update of your data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Request export of your data in a portable format.
- Opt out of non-essential communications.

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we will notify registered users via email.
